The parking meter display is used to show the remaining parking time and to indicate an offence when the parking time paid for is exceeded, using two violation displays operating one after the other. The scale indicating the parking duration and the offence range is two-sided, so that it can be seen from either side of the meter and it has two arc-shaped slots, for viewing a colour-coded vane positioned between the two sides of the scale. The vane is operated so that a colour indication is visible through one arc and then through the other, to provide the successive violation displays. It may have a sensing lever fixed to it, cooperating with a cam carried by the timer shaft.
