The coin-operated parking meter (1) has a removable cashbox (2) for reception of the inserted coins, which is replaced at given intervals and a rechargable voltage source (3), providing the operating energy for the electrical components (4) of the parking meter. The voltage source is integrated in the cashbox for providing a combined replacable unit (5) having an electrical interface (6) for providing the connection between the voltage source and the electrical components. An independent claim for a maintenance method for an automatic coin-operated parking meter is also included.
