A coin operated time control device or parking meter has a pointer, a scale and time dependent zero setting elements. The pointer interacts with the scale in order to indicate the period of time. The scale is divided into one or more fixed scales and one or more scales which move in dependence on time. Each scale capable of moving is moved in the direction of viewing in front of the fixed scale or scales. The fixed scale is provided with a graduation for a first tariff and the movable scale with one or more graduations for a second tariff.
