The gears are on shaft having relatively small angle of inclination of one shaft with respect to the other. The two gear wheels (1) and (2) have axes which intersect at the point (D) and the axis of the wheel (2) is inclined at an angle (beta) to the axis of the wheel (1). The teeth (8) and (10) of the wheels (1) and (2) have straight sided flanks intersecting in a sharp edges. The teetch (8) have flanks which intersect at points (F) on a circle formed by the movement of the point (E) on the wheel (2) at which the flanks of the teeth (10) intersect.
