Compact HV tester with automatic cut out - with detachable holder, automatic battery saving, and diode display

A h.v. tester has a detachable battery powered indicator (1) mounted on an insulated support (26). Two light sources are provided for an illuminated display under electronic control such that after manual switch on the controller (14) automatically switches off after a defined time. The display unit contains a test electrode connected to the light emitting diode displays (10) via resistors (19) and the controller (14), and contacts (35) in the opening (25) for the insulated holder (26) contg. the batteries (32). The controller is activated by inserting the holder (26) until the batteries make contact with the connector (35).
