Quantitative analysis of gas mixtures or of gases dissolved in liquids consists of carrying out a complete separation of all the components in one operation, utilising only one detector. This achieves the total analytical result in a very short time. Pref. transportable container houses: a gas bottle with reducer valve to provide the carrier gas supply; a gas and liquid inlet component; a succession of several columns in a specific sequence for separating the various constituents of the gas; a thermal conductivity detector; a compensation recorder, a computer and a power supply pack. Used in partic. for determining the dissolved impurities of air or liquid-dissolved gas to give a rapid result. A complete analysis of the gas is obtd. quantitatively in a very short time using a simple, convenient and portable apparatus.
