Correction of flaws during installation of cables - in polyethylene cable fittings, using polyethylene film, heating tape, adhesive tape and metal foil

An arrangement for correcting defects in polyethyl- - ene-sheathed cables and fittings during their installation is described. A polyethylene film of shape and width sufficient to cover the defect is fixed on the cable sheathing; a heating tape, esp. with a Cu-wire arranged in meander-fashion, is fitted centrally upon the film so that the ends of the tape overhang the side edges of the film; further polyethylene films are snugly applied on the fitting another polyethylene film covering the previously applied top film and the fitting is fixed by means of a first winding of a suitable adhesive tpae, using a 2nd adhesive tape winding, a further heating tape and a metal (especially Al-) foil are fixed so that the ends of the heating tape protrude laterally between the windings; and finally winding a rubber tape is applied over the 2nd winding.
