Coaxial HF. cable comprises an inner conductor surrounded by a dielectric; an outer conductor of a longitudinally extending, overlapping, metal tape; and a plastics sheathing. Between outer conductor and sheathing there is a tensioned permanently elastic, wound tape of a material that has higher thermal stability than the sheathing. Polypropylene, a polyamide, polyethylene or PTFE is suitable. The sheathing may be a polyethylene.
