The car safety seat has the squab mounted on horizontal bearings and is braced on the floor by dampers. The seat back is hinged on the squab in such a way that when the squab slides forwards the back reclines. The safety belts are attached to the seat and move with the seat displacement for impact absorbing. The seat can be fitted to any vehicle and does not rely on any seat belt anchorages on the vehicle. It enables the belt system to be fitted for maximum comfort and safety. The upper mountings for the belt are looped just under the integral headrest, forming two diagonal sections for support and comfort.
