The aircraft aileron operating device, esp. for model aircraft, comprises a (double) base board (1) with L-shaped guide slots (2, 3) for the aileron actuating pins (12, 13) and a pivot (4) for the actuating lever (5). Pivoted (11) idler arms (9, 10) connect actuating lever and pins; bell-crank levers (14) with forked ends (17) engaging the pins convert pin movement into aileron movement. The pivots (15) for these levers are on an extension of the line (C-C) through the actuating pins in the neutral position; one leg of the guide slots lies along the same line. A conventional input arm (7) engages with the actuating lever. When this moves from the neutral position the shape of the guide slots will cause one actuating pin to move out of the line joining the bell crank lever pivots, rotating its lever. The other will remain in that line keeping its lever steady. The turning moment produced by the two ailerons acting together ("aileron secondary effect") is eliminated.
