Rubber blends contg. chlorinated butyl rubber for tyres - giving increased resistance to cracking

The compounds contain a mixt. of (A) 5-30% chlorinated butyl rubber (calc. as rubber hydrocarbon) with Cl content of 1.1-1.4 wt.% with (B) 95-70% general-purpose rubber consisting of SBR, polyisoprene, natural rubber and their blends. Up to 70% of (B) may be replaced by polybutadiene rubber. The blends are compounded with usual ingredients and processed as usual. They are esp. suitable for off-the-road tyres, the relatively small amount of (A) giving increased resistance to cracking, and also for solid tyres and conveyor belts.
