Vulcanisable rubbers contg. natural rubber and polybutadiene blends - with increased heat resistance, used for pneumatic tyres

The mixt. is based on 10-90pt. natural rubber and 90-10 pt. polybutadiene. The polybutadiene has a glass temp. between -70 and -35 deg. C as determined by differential thermoanalysis (DTA), its microstructure showing the presence of 35-70% 1;2-units. Used for the mfr. of pneumatic tyres, esp. rolling strips, and for rubberising the solid supports in pneumatic tyres. The addn. of the synthetic polybutadiene rubber increases the heat stability of the vulcanisate without adversely affecting the spontaneous heating of the vulcanisate under dynamic stress.
