Vulcanisable rubber blend is based on natural and/or synthetic rubber, C black, ZnO, plasticisers, antioxidants, S and vulcanisation accelerators. It contains =5 (partic. 4-4.5) phr S, =1 (partic. 0.6-0.8) phr. resorcinol, =1 (partic. 0.4-0.6) phr. hexamethylenetetramine (I), =0.2 (partic. 0.12-0.16) phr. Co salt(s) (as Co) and =10 (partic. 6-8) phr. SiO2. Blend is used specifically for rubberising steel cord for reinforcing vehicle tyre belts, carcasses and/or beads and in conveyor belts, V belts and rotary hoses. It adheres well to the steel cord and does not soften or become brittle under dynamic and thermal load, has long term constant consistency and extends the life of the prods. contg. the steel cord.
