The ball (3) is fixed onto the end of a lever (2), made from rigid bar and formed to give a right angle at the ball end. The other end is fixed to a shaft which forms part of a dashpot (4), fitted onto a baseplate (1). This dashpot is operated by an internal piston and its action reinforced by a flat leaf spring. Its function is to ensure the ball reacts similar to actuality, when struck. At the bottom of its stroke, the arm hits a stop, and similarly at the top of its stroke. A protective cover (5) fits over the complete assembly.
