Alkaloids are produced by culturing isolated cells (or small groups thereof) of Vinca minor in a morphogentically undifferentiated state in a liq. medium in vitro. The alkaloid mixts. obtained (including vincamine derivs.) can be used for therapeutic purposes. The process gives higher yields than extraction of the plant itself.
