The hunting gun cartridge wad is formed of plastic, and comprises two seals (1, 2) joined together by two or more arched legs (4) of the same radius, extending towards each other so that their convex faces are nearest. The legs are combined with complementary components (5), so as to limit the amount of crushing of the wad by the gases on firing. These components can be intersecting ribs in the space between the legs. Alternatively the arched legs can be combined with orthogonal ribs in lattice form and constituting a series of quadrilaterals, in the space between the legs.
