The hunting gun cartridge wad consists of two seals (1, 2) joined together by two or more arched legs (4), whose convex surfaces face outwards in opposite directions. The seals can be of the same shape and dimensions, and there can be a stop (6) on the flat face of each, between the legs. The latter canbe reinforced by orthogonal or lattice work ribs. The seals can be bowl-shaped and honeycombed, and the wad can be a one-piece plastic injection moulding. The design gives both an efficient seal and a dampening effect.
