Sealing of bicycle inner tubes - uses sliding type fastener on outer cover with fastener held by pin with gripping head

The bicycle tube seal uses a sliding type joint in which two edges of links are brought together. The links can be buckles or spirals and are brought together by a moving part. They are held by a pin which has a gripping type head and the joint is closed using a special tool. This acts on both outer and inner surfaces of the joint. The tool has two flat members which are attached at one end to form a handle. One member is flat at its lower end and rides on the top of the joint, the other member being formed in a U-shape to draw the joint together.
