Cpds. of formula (I) (where X=H, halo, CH3, OCH3 or NO2; n = 1 or 2; R= 1-4C alkyl or optd. substd. phenyl; R1 = H, acyl, N-substd.-carbamoyl, alkoxy carbonyl or aryloxy-carbonyl) are useful as herbicides for use amongst such crops as beet, spinach and leguminous plants.
