The edge of the Zn sheet which is next to the Pb sheet is bent through 180 degrees to nip the corresp. edge of the Pb sheet. The edge of the Pb sheet is then bent through 180 degrees to nip the edge of the Zn sheet. The assembled unit can be supplied direct to contractors for use on chimney stacks or as ridge capping avoiding assembly on iste. Zn is employed for its stiffness allowing the assembly to be fixed and supported and the Pb is used for its softness since it can take on the shape of the roofing elements when necessary. The assembly is water tight.
