Fireplace with hook giving warm air circulation - has cold air drawn through front inlets in fireback and emitting warm air at sides

The fireplace has a hood which produces warm air by means of an internal air circulation system. The warm air passes into the room from the base of the fireplace rather than the hood. The base (1) and the fireback (2) are hollow and divided into compartments so as to ensure that the air circulates. The cold air is directed to the front of the fireplace. The warm air produced is then drawn into the fireback and passed into the room through the base. The base has four inlet ducts (14-17) for cold air in the centre connected to the outside, and two outlet ducts (19,20) for warm air on the sides. The inlet ducts are shaped so that the air is drawn in, warmed in the centre, drawn into the centre of the fireback where the heating process continues, along the sides of the fireback and the base, to emerge through the outlet ducts.
