Selective herbicidal compsns. contg. urea and triazine derivs. - for control of weeds in maize, cereals, legumes and potatoes

Selective herbicidal compsns. contain as active ingredients a triazine of formula (I) and a urea deriv. of formula (II) in wt. ratio 1:9-9:1, pref. 1:3-3:1. In the formulae R1 = halo, esp. Cl, CH3O or CH3S. R2 and R3 are 1-4C alkyl. R4 = halo, CH3, CH3O, CF3 or NO2; and n = 0-2. Compsns. are for selective control of mono- and dicotyledonous weeds in maize, cereals, legumes and potatoes. The compsns. are effective against e.g. Echinochloacrus-galli and Apera spica-venti, against which the individual components have only limited effect and have reduced residual effect for subsequent crops. Typical ingredients include N-methyl-N'-phenyl urea and 2-chloro-4-isopropylamino-6-ethylamino-s-triazine.
