The coin separator is used in a coin counting mechanism for preventing more than one coin being supplied to the counting mechanism at a time. The coins are supplied to a rotating plate, surrounded by a fixed ring and pass through a slot into a guide chute, delivering them to the counting mechanism. The slot for the coins is provided in the fixed ring around the rotating plate, at a height limited by an adjustable block. The height of the slot can be corrected by a thin block (42) when the separator is used with thin coins, to prevent two coins passing through together.
