Brake control for hydrostatic drive vehicle - with brake pedal moving drive to neutral without altering position of drive control lever (SW280676)

The hydrostatic transmission is fitted with a single control lever which can be moved in either direction, from a neutral setting, to move the vehicle either forwards or backwards at selected speeds. In order to improve the control of fork lift trucks etc., the brake pedal linkage is coupled to the transmission control in such a way that when the brake pedal is operated, not only are the wheel brakes applied, but the transmission control linkage is altered so that the pump is set in the neutral setting. The control lever remains in its original setting. This allows the vehicle to resume its course after the brake is released, and releives the driver of having to rest the control lever.
