1487247 Hydrocarbon emulsions CHRYSLER CORP 12 Nov 1974 [12 Nov 1973] 48974/74 Heading BIV [Also in Divisions Cl C5 and F4] A parting agent composition comprises a suspension of parting agent particles (i.e., non- reactive, colloidal size clay, china, Al 2 O 3 , iron oxide, Mo 2 S 3 , mica, chromium oxide, "Whiting" or graphite) in a mineral spirit (as defined) wherein the suspension is emulsified with water to form an oil-in-water emulsion. The mineral spirit, defined as a petroleum distillate having a general boiling point of 150‹ to 400‹F, may be naphtha (painter's naphtha), petroleum spirits a (B.Pt 200-300‹F) or kerosine (B.Pt 300‹ to 400‹F). A preferred composition comprises 10% by wt. of colloidal graphite suspended in a mineral spirit, the latter being diluted with 5 parts vol. of water. The compositions are considered suitable for facilitating discharge of molten Al from ladles.
