BROWNandMOSHE-AHARON FROMMERforPERITONEAL ARTIFICIAL KIDNEYABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA peritoneal artificial kidney in which a preparedsolution is circulated through the peritoneal cavity and theresulting peritoneal fluid containing unwanted toxicmetabolites is withdrawn from the cavity and passed throughfiltration means that permits essentially only passage ofpure water while rejecting the metabolites. The filteredperitnonal fluid is then reconstituted with a controlledmake-up solution for recycle to the peritoneal cavity andthe rejected residue is discharged as waste.
