Hybrid electrode for metal/air cells comprises on the electrolyte side a hydrophilic layer of Ni for separation of the oxygen, on the gas side a hydrophobic layer of plastic matl. and between the two layers, for dissolving the oxygen a hydrophobic layer of catalytic carbon enclosing a metallic structure which is rigidly in contact with the Ni layer on the electrolyte side and, on the gas side penetrates beyond the carbon into the plastic layer.
