Railway bogie track points negotiating gear - uses interfacing linear motors and vertical axles for guide rollers

Top and bottom guide rollers, mounted in vertical axles, run on vertical guide rails. The guide rollers can be displaced in the axis direction, to be brought into engagement with top and bottom conducting rails, set at junction points, so as to move onto the allotted track. Drive is provided by two interfacing linear motors with a vertical air gap. Their coil carriers are mounted on the chassis for movement through a parallel guideway. They are fitted with vertical axles for the top and bottom guide rollers running on the guide rails while at the same time maintaining contact with conducting rails.
