A chain scraper conveyor unit is for bulk removal or mining operations. It has at least one endless conveyor chain, made as a loop chain carrying successive scraper and cleaning elements at a distance from each other. The chain loops (7, 8) not directly following each other and forming part of the conveyor chain (1) are formed in two parts being attached to the chain wheel teeth fitting into gaps between them. The cleaning elements (5) consist of upper (13) and lower parts (14) both parts of which may be tensioned by a centrally located bolt with each other end with the chain loop side stays (7, 8). The cleaning elements are positioned at equal distances between any two successive scraper elements .
