The clamp is for securing the overlapping ends of two through section elements (1, 2) to form a framework for lining a tunnel in a mine. Members form a hinge between them and are locked shut by a key (14) on assembly. A bridging portion (3) fits over the overlapping ends, located by a butting cross strap (18) against the end face of the upper through (1). A lower arm (15) each end has a lug one side of the joint, to retain a hinge pin (10), and a curved finger (12) the other side of the joint. These are locked together, clamping the two ends between them by inserting a taper key (14) under the fingers (12).
