A method for securing a carousel shelf onto an upright support has the shelf positioned onto the upright via a profiled slot and secured by two interlocking clamping pieces fitted from opposite sides of the shelf. One clamping piece is U-shaped and the other piece interlocks onto the first piece. A tapering gap between one clamping piece and the upright is fitted with a tapering wedge piece which jams between the clamping piece and the upright and thereby secures the shelf onto the upright.
