The pneumatic tyre has, on the inside, rubber-elastic support elements arranged one behind the other, which are fitted below the running tread and/or where the running tread gradually passes into the sidewalls, in such a way that the support elements below the running tread bear upon the felloe bed and those near the sidewall bear upon the side of the tyre base, when the emergency occurs. The supporting elements are made of a band, which is provided on 1 side with a carrier layer. This fastened to the running surface e.g. by glueing, whilst the other side is divided by radial cuts which reach close to the carrier layer.
