The piston crown has an upwards slanting (12) projection on one side. The cylinder head is (10) correspondingly slanted at approximately 15 degrees on the same side. The combustion hamber is bordered by the inlet valve face (4) the cylinder head arch (11) and the piston crown. The piston surface and cylinder head form two compression gaps at TDC. The charge is pressed from the first compression gap, formed by the slanting surfaces (10, 12) passes the valve face (4) onto the cylinder head arch (11) and deflected back by the charge from the second compression gap (8). The gas flow is then deflected again by the first compression gap projection (9) to produce a rotating flow in the combustion chamber. The spak plug is pref. located between both valves.
