The tool for opening bottles, cans etc. with screw tops, press on tops, soldered on ends etc., has a handle one end and two jaws which can be used to operate gripping, lifting or cutting tools. A sleeve is mounted on the other end to carry the tool. Between them are two curved jaws to grip the container. The handle and sleeve are mounted on a rod which also carries the jaws, also a spring. One end of the rod carries a screw thread for use of the securing jaws, and a locking nut. By rotating the handle to the right or the left the container is gripped between the jaws. A bottle opener and a punch can also be fitted.
