The device has a sliding structure (3) sliding on an elongated rectangular frame (2) between two positions in which the structure occupies respective ends of the frame. A gripping tool formed of claws (11a, 11b) is integrated with the structure and operated by a drive member i.e. jack (12), for opening and closing the tool. A locking finger (4) and a locking orifice (5) permit automatic locking of the structure sliding on the frame when the structure is in one of the positions. A cam drives an unlocking lever (14) using the tool in a final part of an opening course of the tool.
