A wiring duct is a U-section extrusion or pressing of synthetic material with moulded rails in the base, parallel to the sides, to take divider sections. The top of each side wall has a horizontal lip (3) with pairs of keyhole shaped slots (4) at regular intervals. The loose lid (6) has mushroom headed buttons (5) spaced to match the keyholes. To locate the lid these buttons are pressed through the large diameter of the keyhole and the whole lid then moved sideways to prevent removal. For security against lateral movement a further round button (12) between the mushroom heads sits in the large section of the keyhole. Slits (13) on either side of this button form a spring tongue, which keeps positive pressure on the button (12) with the lid in position thus providing a form of restraint.
