Fibre mixing by depositing fibre layers in variable vol. chamber - from which fibres are removed pref. by belt moving transversely

Fibres (of e.g. different colours, types) are mixed by depositing layers of the different fibres in a mixing chamber having at one end a removal device, pref. a perforated endless belt moving transversely of the layers of fibres. The other end of the chamber is formed by a wall which is movable towards and away from the removal device to vary the volume of the mixing chamber. By adjusting the volume of the mixing chamber the required thickness of the layers of fibres can be obtained to achieve optimum mixing.
