Method is intended for carding textile fibres with the object of producing a thin web with uniform fibre distribution per unit surface area. - At least two widths of fibres with different characteristics are fed side by side into the carding unit and the web formed thereby is deposited on to a transport belt moving at right angles to the carding installation such that a composite web is formed on the belt in which fibre layers overlap zig-zag fashion. - The zig-zag pitch in longitudinal belt direction is shorter than the width of the narrowest fibre material layer in the web deposited thereon.
