Extruder with flat sheeting die is claimed, the die comprising a base body adjoining the die opening. In the base body there is an adjustable baffle bar and, at the exit side of the extrudate, a pair of lips defining a nip; one of the lips being fixed whilst the other is adjustable. Between the base body and the adjustable lip there is a infinitely adjustable wedge which, when in working position, bears firmly upon the base body and the adjustable lip. This wedge is adjustable transversely to the adjusting direction of the lip. Used in continuous mfr. of plastics film webs. Accurate and continuous adjusting of the nip is both reliable and easy. No supplementary insets such as auxiliary sheets of metal are necessary to ensure extrusion of film of desired thickness.
