The positioning device is able to obtain a position signal with the aid of a marker support (2) which is moved by the servomotor (1). The actual position is determined in the form of a digital code signal. The code signal is applied to an intermediate store (4), and from there it is passed to a comparator (5) which compares it with an input signal corresponding to the required position. The output signal of the comparator (5) is applied to the motor control circuit (6) for the motor (1) forward or backward running, or stopping.
