A tape cassette is designed for use in a tape recorder. The cassette is placed in a frame which is swung into the recorder and locked in it. It is unlocked by operation of an unlocking key. When the frame is locked, a magnetic head on a slide is applied to the tape, as in 26 22 821. There is a coupling element (11). This coupling element is inserted between the unlocking key (2) and the intermediate slide (1), depending on the state of the cassette tape recorder.
