The fan (1) is driven through a hydro dynamic coupling (3) via a push rod or belt drive. The coupling is contained in a housing (8) mounted by a flange to the engine crankcase (7). The coupling pump wheel (11) is driven by a reduction gear from the engine crankshaft (5). The turbine wheel (12) is fixed to a hollow shaft (13) which rotates the eccentric drive (16). The reduction gear consists of a first gear wheel (5) turning an intermediate gear wheel (9) in mesh with the pump wheel pinion (10).
