Medicine cabinet with child-proof spring catches - can only be opened by simultaneous operation of four spaced catches

A medicine cabinet is of rectangular shape and is provided with a lid (4) attached by a hinge (8) along one side (1). The edge of the lid (4) is provided with an internal groove, to receive the notched ends (5') of four leaf springs (5). Each leaf spring (5) is clamped in a slot in the side walls of the box and is provided with a knob (6) which is externally accessible through a hole (3). Each catch can be released by pressing the knob (6) inwards but in order to open the lid (4) all four catches must be pressed simultaneously. The catches are so spaced that the distance between any two is greater than the span of a child's hand so that the cabinet can only be opened by an adult.
