Filling liquids into measuring cylinders - uses principle of communicating vessels, to ensure measuring cylinder filling up to selected level

Filling method for certain liquids into a measuring cylinder for use in medical espec. dental laboratories. The liquid is moved by a pump (2) from a storage container (1) through a 'U' shaped pipe (3) into a measuring cylinder (4), which is attached to the longer leg (5) connected to the storage container at any selectable height, using a magnetic ledge etc. The height of the measuring cylinder (4) is chosed so that the pipe end of the shorter leg (7) is in line with the height of the marking (8) up to which the measuring cylinder is to be filled. A greater amount of liquid than that to be filled is moved into the measuring cylinder by the pump so that according to the principle of communicating vessels the excess amount of liquid runs back into the storage container.
