Eye implant lens after cataract operation - has three equally spaced synthetic rubber centering rings around periphery

The lens used in eye surgery for correcting the sight of an eye after an operation for a cataract, also incorporates a location system to ensure correct positioning. The implant lens (1) carries around its periphery, three centering rings (2). These rings are made of silicone conber of a very high elasticity and the cross sectional size of the threa used is about 3mm diameter. The lens has a diameter between 3.5 and 4mm. The specific gravity of the ring material is 1.03 gr/cm3 resulting of a pressure on the eye of less than 0.5 milligram.
