The arrangement has a protection device attached to an artificial lens i.e. intraocular lens (1), for controlling light incidence in a light propagation area in a lens region, where the region is a surrounding area attached to a circular outer periphery (2) of the lens. The protection device has a covering flap (5) arranged in a light incidence side before the lens, where the covering flap is formed as an eye-optical correction-free element. The protection device has a lid element (3) made of light scattering material, light reflection reducing material or spectrum filtering material.
