PURPOSE:In the preparation of 1-nitroanthraquinone by nitration of anthraquinone with mixed acid the use of a specific mixed acid of substantially high nitric acid content afford title compound of good filtering property and high purity, which is useful as synthetic intermediate for dyes or pigments.
