Gear teeth with compensation for axial clearance - has concave tooth profile able to deflect more than convex tooth profile on opposite gear

The engaging gear wheels have matching convex and concave profiled teeth. One gear wheel has teeth formed by convex circular arcs and the other has teeth with concave circular arcs. The teeth profiles can transmit high torques and accommodate any excess force between the teeth due to shaft centre displacements. The gear wheel with concave teeth is made of material with special modulus of elasticity and the gear tooth is modified so that these teeth are able to bend under loading. The bending deflection is at least three times that of the convex teeth of the first gear wheel.
