Metal profile bending machine - uses bending and drawing process to obtain non-circular curve with former jacked into end anchored profile

The machine for bending metal profiles uses a combined bending and drawing process. The ends (26, 27) of the straight profile (1) are gripped by jack-clamps (2, 3). The clamps are able to rotate during the bending process. A template block (5), shaped to the proposed profile is then jacked into the soffit of the workpiece (1). The template block moves in the plane of the proposed curved and the profile is thus stretched and curved. Contact breaks may beused to define the distance the template block (5) travels. The workpiece profile may be an 'L' section with equal legs. The plane of the proposed curved may bisect the angle subtended by the two legs of the 'L' section.
