Appts. for auxiliary heating by the Joule effect of a room with =1 window or bay comprises =1 resistance wire which is incorporated in a curtain for the window, and which pref. consists of several wires arranged in rectilinear vertical segments with =2 segments connected in series. The horizontal joints between the vertical segments pref. consist of =1 multi-strand wire which is a good conductor, to allow easy gathering of the curtain. Alternatively, the resistance may be suitably insulated and in the form of a grid with horizontal and vertical wires, forming the curtain itself. The horizontal wires are adhered to the vertical wires at their points of intersection, and the wires are covered with a pile by flocking.
